The first cell phone service my hubby ever got was terrible. They made him sign a one year Contract and then after he got signed up, he found out that the cell phone would not connect in many of the places that he traveled and many of the calls that should have gone through got routed to his voice mail instead. To add insult to injury they then tried to charge him for calls that were supposed to be free.
He finally got in a big fight with them over their poor service and when he canceled the service well after the Contract ran out, they kept taking money out of his checking account though he had canceled their authorization. When he refused to pay for the service that he had canceled, they reported him to a collection agency. To say the least, he was not happy with that company. During his long battle with the company, he found out that cell phone companies were the number one worst rated businesses for customer dissatisfaction according to the Better Business Bureau.

Free Cell Phone Service Low Income

I’m very much in two minds about this ‘Free‘ business. On one hand I think it’s a shocker; me a senior, already paying for my SVC plan every 3 months ‘ it’s not expensive. $20 every three months, seriously.
Who cannot foresee that expense. Further more, me paying for mine legitimately, is supporting the sentiment that ‘the government will look after you’. Or am I just being an insensitive old grouch who feels everyone can afford a Tracfone, because I can. Sencondly; why am I not jumping on the bandwagon. Especially if Mr. Fuentes is concerned about ‘penetration’. It sounds as though there’s something in it for him.
When did this become a dog-eat-dog world. Surely not without our knowledge, and government did not do it to us. We do it ourselves.
We fight so hard to claw our way up the ladder of “success”, and who cares who we step on in the process. Who defines success. Just the latest craze, the latest hype. Who creates that. Someone, just like you and me, trying to sell their product, or idea, and suddenly success becomes measured in the ability to have everything one wants or desires. I call that a complete loss, most times at the price of your soul. Just because someone gets something for Free does not mean that you paid for it with your taxes. You will pay taxes regardless, unless you are a criminal. You pay taxes, by the way, for the benefits you have in this country, turn on the international news if you don’t understand what I am talking about. And be careful, I am a combat veteran, I served my country, I believe in what it stands for. I have seen places where the authorities don’t even need “emminent domain”, they just take what they want from you, and kill your family in front of you if you protest. When you knock someone else down, or kick them that are down, that does not make you bigger, it makes you smaller. And, believe it or not, a high g.p.a. does not insulate you from life; a six-figure income does not make you immune to problems. And as God is my witness, the amount of money in your pocket or your bank account does NOT make you better than anyone else, but it can very easily make you a worse person. It’s not what you have, but how you got it, and what you do with it. I am ashamed of the people who wrote most of these comments before mine. There is no compassion. We make ourselves feel better by calling everyone else worse, and wonder why our kids won’t stop fighting with each other. I’m proud to live in a country who does not completely abandon those who stumble, because God doesn’t. And I know it is not perfect, but that is because it is run by us – humans with human faults, prejudices and biases. But it is what we make it. I fought for the rights of those people to get a Free phone. I fought for the right to elect representatives to government. And yes, I fought for the right for people like you to condemn me for sticking up for the man on the corner with his hand out- and as long as I have a dollar in my pocket (given to me by God, by the way) I will share it with him, even if he is smoking a cigarette. And yes, as a matter of fact, many of my friends and companions died for those rights – and we did it all by choice. My suggestion to you who disagree with what our government is doing: move. No one chooses to be so poor they cannot provide for their family, and even if they have made some very bad choices in arriving at their circumstances, that does not put you in judgment over them. I have been flat broke, and I have been extremely financially successful, and I have done everything in between, but none of it at the expense, or ridicule, of another. Try caring for someone other than yourselves for a change, you sure sleep better at night.
Also, some of you think that welfare is things just handed to people that dont need them, or people that dont try. Some of you also seem to think that people entitled to welfare have it easy. Give me a break.
Good Lord people, I know just like everyone else that there are people that do these things’. There are people who would rather sit back and feed off of whomever and whatever they want. Get everything handed to them that they can without eveer lifting a finger. And yes these people make me just as sick as they do you because they make a lot of you think that everyone on welfare is like that. What about the elderly that are in too bad of health to work and have nothing to their names. Or even the younger people who’s health is also so bad they can’t work. I know some of you that think you are right about everything think “oh well anyone can work, I don’t care how sick they are, they just don’t want to work.”. I happen to know better. There are people too weak and tired to even get out of the bed, and a lot of them have no one there to help them, or if they do have someone they can’t help them. There are also people who have nervous disabilities and can’t handle certain obligations that come with working. Sounds stupid to you right. What if it was you. What if you was diagnosed with a nervous condition and told you could never work again. What choice would you have but to apply welfare. You would try every bit of government help you can unless you were born with silver and gold spoons in your mouth and can just have everything handed to you that way. The Bible says not to judge people, and I struggle with that since there are so many others out there, just in this blog post alone, that are judging all the time. I usually never judge anyone based on looks, race, sex, size, or wealth’. I can honestly say I accept people the way they are. I was some people’s only friend in school, and really genuinely care about every one. I saw an elderly couple in a store one day and tears came to my eyes bc their backs were both so hunched over they were looking straight at the floor. My little cousin passed away at 3 years old with a rare form of cancer, spinal muscular attrophy, and a tumor and if it wasn’t for the help we recieved, she wouldn’t have gotten any help at all, because my family is Very low income. I know some of you are wondering what this has to do with anything. It’s to let some of you know that some people do need and deserve all of the help they can get. Yeah some people don’t deserve it as much and get more help than the one’s that need it more. That’s just life sometimes. I really wish some people would really think about some things before they open their mouths about it.
